Playa Bavaro

Playa Bavaro is part of what is known as the Costa del Coco in the Dominican Republic. The famous stretch of beach continues for 20 miles and is known for its all -inclusive resorts and endless white sand. Playa Bavaro is undoubtedly the most popular and also the most developed beach in the area for tourists. As a result, there is beautiful beach plus loads of activities going on all around! Certain parts of the beach have been awarded the blue flag award which is widely considered as the gold standard for beaches.  Although crowded at times it won’t be hard to find your perfect spot on the endless sand that makes up Bavaro Beach.

Akumal Beach

Akumal is a small town about 60 miles south of Cancun, and it has certainly made its fame from it’s beach! Akumal, in Mayan, means ‘place of the turtles’ and it lives up to the name. It is one of the favourite spots for sea turtles to lay their eggs and swimming with the turtles is the norm rather than a special event. Under the azure blue waters divers and snorkelers will quickly find the reef, making it also the perfect spot for underwater activities.

Playa Bayahibe

Escape the crowds and head to Playa Bayahibe. Located to the Southeast of La Romana, the peaceful beach is a welcome retreat for those escaping the pressures of city life. Holidays feel at ease surrounded by calm waters, palm trees and tropical fish. The beach is located around 2km from downtown La Romana.

Playa Juanillo

If you venture towards the southern end of Punta Cana you will eventually stumble upon Cap Cana, and beautiful Juanillo beach. This section of the island is part of an exclusive gated community, it is calm, cool and oh so chic. The water is crystal clear blue and the area is much less populated than downtown Punta Cana. Although part of a gated community, Playa Juanillo is open to the public, on arriving at the security gate of Cap Cana it is possible that they will ask you for ID!
