Q: Does Inclusive Collection offer legal ceremonies?
A: Yes, however different fees and requirements apply such as in-resort blood tests, and a time frame to arrive in resort before the ceremony. Legal ceremonies for same-sex weddings are only available in Mexico & Costa Rica.
Q: Can we offer any benefits for the wedding party and guests?
A: Inclusive Collection offers a fantastic Groups Plus promotion. The promotion offers private group check in, comp room upgrades and comp room discounts. For groups of 10+ rooms, the wedding couple also benefit from 2 events for up to 40 guests that can be added to their package, or used as an event extension already in their package. A semi-private dinner and a 1 hour cocktail party.
Q: Are packages adaptable for Renewal of Vow ceremonies?
A: Yes, all the packages can be used as a renewal of vows ceremony. Inclusive Collection offers the ‘Ever After Renewal of Vows’ package, which is complimentary with the required room category, for 5 or 7 nights depending on the hotel. However, you can use any package for the renewal of vows ceremony. Many couples often use the complimentary Wedding in Paradise package for their renewal of vows ceremony, as it more often than not has the same room requirements as the ‘Ever After Renewal of Vows’ package, but more inclusions, and covers up to 10 guests. You would mention this at time of inquiry and on the wedding reservation form.
Q: Does Inclusive Collection offer same-sex weddings?
A: AMR Collection offer same-sex weddings depending on the destination. Mexico & Costa Rica resorts offer legal and symbolic ceremonies in all properties. The Dominican Republic resorts offer symbolic ceremonies in adult-only properties (Secrets & Breathless Resorts). Resorts in Jamaica unfortunately cannot offer symbolic or legal ceremonies.
Q: Does Inclusive Collection offer Catholic weddings?
A: Yes, we can offer Catholic weddings in Mexico, in the wedding chapel at Dreams Tulum, and the outdoor chapel at Dreams Sapphire Riviera Cancun, both are consecrated venues. For other resorts, destinations and wedding venues, the clients can choose to bring in a Catholic priest to perform a blessing ceremony. A Catholic wedding can only take place in a consecrated venue.
Q: When must the wedding couple arrive in resort?
A: Symbolic Ceremonies – The couple must arrive 3 days prior to the wedding ceremony.
A: Legal Ceremonies – The wedding couple must arrive 4 business days prior to the wedding date for Mexico, and 3 days for the Dominican Republic, as well as their 4 witnesses. Weekends & Mexican bank holidays (festivos) do not count. Should you have a query on the day count, this can be raised in the earliest stages or planning, when asking for ceremony and venue date availability.
Q: Are deposits required?
A: Yes, a $500 USD deposit is required on the paid wedding packages, and a $100 deposit for the complimentary wedding packages which can be used in resort as credit (massage anyone?), but most use this towards the minister fees. Larger packages, such as the Beyond Memorable package and Dulha & Dulhan package require a $750 USD deposit. These larger packages are available at selected resorts only.
Q: What are the payment arrangements?
A: A payment link will be sent by the hotel to the tour operator after they have received the wedding reservation form. Once payment is complete, the hotel will send a wedding confirmation letter. An invoice for the remaining balance of the package will be sent to the operator closer to the date of the wedding. Any costs above the package, will be charged to the wedding couple directly. These additional costs could be legal fees, cost per head above their package, or their photo booth! This will be handled with their dedicated wedding coordinator in resort, who takes over after the deposit payment is made. They cover the intricate details of flowers, colour schemes, dietary requirements etc.
Q: My wedding couple want to extend for their honeymoon, and benefit from a honeymoon package. Is this allowed?
A: Absolutely! As some wedding guests will take the opportunity to extend past the wedding for their own holiday, we suggest moving resorts a couple days after the wedding, for some R&R and romantic alone time. Remember, Inclusive Collection offers the complimentary Secrets & Dreams Eternity honeymoon packages, when booking the required room category for 7 nights or more, or it can be added for a shorter stay or room category, for a package cost. These packages include a couples massage and a private romantic dinner on the beach. Feel free to contact us as hotels can be flexible. If the requirement is a Preferred Club Jr St Ocean View for 7 nights, but the wedding couple want to book the Preferred Club Jr St Ocean Front, or Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite for 5 nights for example, chances are the wedding couple could be in luck! Just contact us and we’ll submit the request. More info on packages is on this blogs Honeymoons page.
Q: The wedding couple have friends staying in a different resort. Can they enter the resort for the wedding?
A: Yes, wedding couples can bring in friends and family for the wedding events at a cost per head, for a day pass, or wedding pass. It is at the discretion of the wedding couple to decide if they will cover this cost, or have the guests pay it on their arrival to the resort. The costs are listed in the wedding guides. There is a limit to how many guests can stay outside the hosting resort.
Q: Some guests want to stay elsewhere. What are the limitations?
A: The hotel asks that no more than 20% of the guests stays elsewhere. 80% of the group must stay at the resort, for 3 nights minimum, and the stay must cover the night before and the night of the wedding. For small parties this can be flexible at the hotels discretion, and applies to all resorts, including other HIC properties.
The exceptions to this are the resorts offering free-flow exchange privileges. These are: Dreams Onyx & Breathless Punta Cana, Dreams & Secrets Playa Mujeres, Secrets & Breathless Riviera Cancun, Breathless & Secrets Montego Bay, and Secrets & Dreams Royal Beach. The room count total, split across the resorts, would count towards their Groups Plus benefits. The wedding couple will need to be mindful that if they want children at any wedding event, they must chose a venue at the family friendly resort (Dreams). Exceptions cannot be made to allow children into adult-only resorts.
*Please note, Secrets Riviera Cancun guests can enter Breathless Riviera Cancun, however Breathless Riviera Cancun guests cannot enter Secrets Riviera Cancun. Breathless Montego Bay guests can enter Secrets Wild Orchid & Secrets St James Montego Bay, however only Preferred Club guests at Secrets Montego Bay can enter Breathless Montego Bay. Secrets Royal Beach guests can enter Dreams Royal Beach, however Dreams Royal Beach guests cannot enter Secrets Royal Beach. All exchange privileges at any Inclusive Collection property are subject to buy-outs and stop sales.
Q: The guest count is higher than the amount of guests included in the package. Can they increase, and how much would it be?
A: Wedding couples can invite more guests than the amount included in the package price, most do! The cost is charged per person, according to the package, and these costs are listed in each hotels wedding guide.
Q: The wedding couple want to see real authentic wedding photos from the resorts to help them choose. Where can I find this?
A: Wedding couples can always try a variation of hashtags online, however we recommend sending them the links to the Instagram pages, run personally by the in-resort Wedding Managers. These are not run by the hotel, they are personal projects by the Weddings teams in resort – a few noted below:
